Where do I find music?
With so many different resources out there how do we know which ones are worth spending our time on in the search for music for my congregation?
Here is a few quick resources and links that will help you focus your initial search
Salvation Army Music Resources
The Salvation Army Songbook is the original resource for worship in the Salvation Army. The newest version of the songbook was released in late 2015 and includes many new songs. There is so much rich theology in our songbook, it is definitely worth a look in here as you are planning for worship. Some of these songs are being modernised by groups like transMission and NEON.
The Hallelujah Chorus series that comes out of the USA Central Territory is another great resource published by The Salvation Army. This resource has the brass band (including brass band backing tracks) and piano music covered but also includes notation for guitars, vocals and smaller brass ensembles. With a more current song list and new editions being published several times each year this is a great resource for any sized congregation. Check out this video that gives you information on one of the 2016 Hallelujah Chorus Packs
Songs from these sources and The Salvation Army brass band catalogue have been combined in a searchable format at the following website: www.samusicindex.com
Online Music Resources
The two most reliable online resources, that have your legal copyright obligations looked after, are Praisecharts and Songselect by CCLI. These are both paid resources that give you the ability to print and download music for your worship team. Changing the key is available for both sties sites which is a very handy feature. Watch this video for more details on both of these products.
